BLACK SEA REGION
DAY 1: Depart for
St. Sophia, a 13 th
century Byzantine church
to see and learn about
the extraordinary
mosaics and frescoes.
Drive to Akçaabat for
lunch and visit Gülbahar
Hanim Mosque, Castle,
Atatürk's Mansion and
Ortahisar Mosque (a
Comneni Cathedral in the
old town). Drive to
Boztepe for a panaromic
view. Return to the
hotel for overnight
stay.
DAY 2: Pick up
from hotel in the
morning and drive to
Sumela Monastery. Hike
through Altindere Valley
National Park for about
35 minutes to get to the
monastery which is from
the 4 th century and
built in rocks on a side
of a cliff. Depart for
Karaca Cave after lunch.
Drive along the old Silk
Road through Zigana
Mountains. After the
drive arrive at the
Karaca Cave, known as
the most beautiful cave
in the country for it's
colors and formations.
Return to Trabzon at the
end of the tour for an
overnight stay.
DAY 3: Pick up
from the hotel in the
morning for Uzungöl, one
of the most photogenic
locations in the region.
Lunch at a fish
restaurant, sightseeing.
Return to hotel for an
overnight stay.
DAY 4: Departure
from the hotel in the
morning for Ayder, visit
the Botanic Gardens and
the panoramic view of
Rize. Drive to
Camlihemsin through
Firtina Valley, enjoy
the view of waterfalls,
ancient stone bridges on
Firtina stream and lush
green forests on the
foothills of the
magnificent Kaçkar
Mountains. Lunch at
Kalegon Forest,
sightseeing in Ayder and
return to Trabzon for
and overnight stay.
DAY 5: Check-out,
free day in Trabzon,
transfer to the bus
station or to the
airport.

visit before Sumela
Manastery. Visit the 4
th century monastery and
drive to Zigana
Mountains. Overnight
stay at Zigana.
DAY 3: Depart for
Erzurum after breakfast.
Visit Karaca Cave,
Aydintepe and Bayburt
Castle on the way.
Overnight stay in
Erzurum.
DAY 4: Depart for
Erzurum sightseeing tour
after breakfast.
Archeological Museum,
Çifte Minareli Medrese,
Three Tombs, Ulu Mosque,
Citadel and Yakutiye
Medrese are the other
places we will visit.
Overnight stay in
Erzurum.
DAY 5: Depart for
Kars after breakfast,
drive through Sarikamis
and visit Kümbet (Old
Armenian) Church. Visit
Kars Castle, the church
of Holy Apostles.
Overnight stay in Kars.
DAY 6: Breakfast,
visit the ancient city
of Ani, Aslan Kapisi,
Church of Redemeer and
St. Gregory, Convet of
Virgins, Menüçehir
Mosque, Cathedral,
Churces of Abukhamrets,
Holy Apostles, and
Selcuk Caravanserai.
Overnight stay in Kars.
DAY 7: Depart for
Artvin after breakfast.
Visit Göle, Ishan and
Four Churches on the
way. Overnight in Artvin.
DAY 8: Breakfast
and start the tour in
Artvin. Visit Ardanuç
via high walled Hell's
Gorge, Dolishane and
Yeni Rabat Church (shedberdi).
Dinner and overnight
stay in Artvin.
DAY 9: Depart for
Rize after breakfast.
Visit Ayder, Firtina
Valley and the Kaçkar
Mountains. Dinner and
overnight stay in Rize.
DAY 10: Breakfast
and drive to Uzungöl, a
lakeside eden on the
mountains. Dinner and
overnight stay in
Trabzon.
DAY 11: Check out
and transfer to the bus
station or to the
